German names for baby boys, related also with germanic, with 6032 entries. German names are all-time favorites. Currently they are still very popular baby names for boys, though they were in more widespread use previously. At the height of their usage in 1946, 50.166% of baby boys were given German names. There were 220 German names ranked within the top 1000 baby names then. German names have since experienced a decline in frequency, but in recent years they are nonetheless of very heavy use. In 2016, 185 German names listed among the top 1000, with a combined usage of 24.201%.
