Catholic names for baby boys, related also with saint, with 134 entries. The Catholic faith is one of the major religions of the world and is adhered to by large populations in Brazil, Mexico and the Philippines – the top three countries in terms of Catholic followers. Catholic names can be drawn from saints’ names or be inspired by favored character traits and virtues.

Catholic names are all-time favorites. Currently they are still very popular baby names for boys, though they were in more widespread use previously. At the height of their usage in 1967, 30.699% of baby boys were given Catholic names. There were 103 Catholic names ranked within the top 1000 baby names then. Catholic names have since experienced a decline in frequency, but are nonetheless used on a very heavy scale now. In 2018, 92 Catholic names listed among the top 1000, with a combined usage of 12.770%. Within all Catholic names, the English and Hebrew Elijah was the most commonly used, with a ranking of #7 and a usage of 0.6681%.
