Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero – Characters

On the 22nd of April the movie for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was scheduled to open in Japan. It will be available to the global markets in very short order as well. At least barring any more unforeseen delays. There may be some delay in the film being released even in Japan, but we can rest assured that it will be made available in short order.

Dragon Ball Z was a Manga comic in the Shōnen manga genre that made its world debut in the Weekly Shōnen Jump starting in 1984 and running through 519 chapters, collected into 42 tankōbon volumes and running until 1995. The anime version of Dragon Ball Z began its broadcast run in two variations, Dragon Ball, and Dragon Ball Z, both of which began broadcasting in 1986 and running until 1996.

While it would not do Dragon Ball Z any justice to call it a mere classic, the Manga Series, some of the movies, and much of the anime are now older than many of the modern fans of the Dragon Ball Z series. Technically the actual series eventually ended but its impact continues through the creation of some 20 feature length anime films and three television specials to date.

The Dragon Ball Legacy Grows

There have also been an additional three sequel series based on the original. The first of these was Dragon Ball GT which ran from 1996 to 1997.

This was followed by a revision of the original series which ran from 2009 until 2015 and was known as Dragon Ball Kai in Japan. The series was focused more on a return to the original manga form of the series, cutting out much of the material that had been added for the anime series.

Then the last of the three Dragon Ball Z sequels included here was Dragon Ball Super which ran from 2015 until 2018. Overall the Dragon Ball series has made a lasting impression on the markets, presently sitting comfortably in a position as the third most sold manga series of all time.

Dragon Ball Super – The Movie

Dragon Ball Super: Broly was a movie created in 2018. It was written by the original series creator Akira Toriyama and directed by Tatsuya Nagamine. While this film was the first movie to be named after Dragon Ball Super, it ultimately became the highest grossing film in the entire Dragon Ball franchise. This was a major accomplishment and success by any definition.

Given the success of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, it can hardly be surprising that there was a follow-up feature film. The series should enjoy even more success considering that Akira Toriyama will remain actively involved in the writing and direction for the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.

With the history of the franchise, there seems to be a great chance that we may soon see an increase in babies named after characters from Dragon Ball Z and the Dragon Ball franchise, so we figured we would make it easy to find a comprehensive list of characters from Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.

Some additional characters are also listed her because of their references in this list, or because of their direct relation to characters that will make an actual appearance in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
