One Piece Characters Whose Names Begin With B
One Piece was originally a Manga comic book series, primarily seen as being part of the Shonen Genre. As it gained popularity, it was animated and allowed for the creation of an Anime series based on the One Piece Manga comics. There may be more people using One Piece characters for baby names than we know right now, but as the series continues, so will the character name listings.
What Are The Origins Of One Piece Manga
One piece was originally created as a Manga Comic in the Shonen genre by Eiichiro Oda. One Piece first appeared as a Manga series in 1999 and has been in continuous production ever since. It would be easy to imagine that some 23 years in production would make it the longest running manga or shonen production, but such is far from the case.
In truth, One Piece sits comparatively far down the list in long-running manga series, comfortably nestled in place at number 22 on the list at the time of this writing. Also, it should be noted that One Piece may technically be classified as part of the Shonen genre, it tends to push the boundaries here as well.
The shonen genre tends to focus primarily on the male, teen demographic. One Piece has often approached different subject matter that pushes the bounds of those limitations. As such, both the One Piece Manga and Anime series have attracted a much wider audience. This is likely one of the many reasons that the One Piece series has developed such a devoted fan base from beyond its Shonen roots. It is also why it is very possible that there will soon be an increase in baby names based on One Piece characters.
What Is The Difference Between One Piece Manga And One Piece Anime
Manga in the traditional sense, are effectively comic books, though with a very distinct style of art and characterization. In Japan, virtually every piece of animated work is by definition Anime. However, Anime has been a distinct form of art, primarily in animated features, since as early as 1917 according to some resources.
Animations such as The Pot and the Black Cat, The Dream Car, The Ministry of Culture Art Exhibition, among others were introduced in 1917 featuring the same style of artwork for their animation. While Anime has certainly evolved over the years, many of the same characteristics of this style of animation remain to this day.
It should be noted that there is generally a good flow between the original manga series and the anime. As such, most of the One Piece characters will remain, even though some may be deleted based on the constraints associated with the production of the anime. The list of the One Piece characters from the actual Manga is substantially longer, allowing for more baby names to be introduced and used, but this is to be expected with the long run the One Piece Manga series has enjoyed.
Is There A Live Action One Piece Movie From Netflix
After the rather questionable “success” of the Live Action Cowboy Bebop from netflix, there seem to be some mixed emotions and mixed reviews about the potential for a Live Action One Piece series. The series may be very popular or it may miss the mark completely, though that depends a lot on how it is approached by Netflix.
It should be noted that many live action movies based on the books have not done so well, and this could be a direct result of many different issues. There is an amazing following for both Anime and Manga merely as an artform, and that is something that really cannot be accurately captured in a live-action production of One Piece, Cowboy Bebop, or even Ghost in the Shell or Alita.
While the latter two at least were wonderful movies in their own rights, they may have missed the mark with their existing fan base on a number of fronts. They lacked the look and feel of the originals, not only in terms of the art, but the characters, the surrounding, and their overall feel.
There was also a decided lack of focus on the original and largest audiences throughout Asia, and a decided westernized slant, most notable in Alita. While there are high hopes for the Netflix One Piece live action movie, it looks as if they will be taking the same route as Alita in terms of casting. We can only hope however, that they will do much better than they did with Cowboy Bebop in terms of the final product.
