Would You Choose Fake Names For Your Baby

This almost sounds like a trick question I am sure, but the fact is that many famous people are relatively unknown by their real names. Some people use pen names, pseudonyms, or other fake names in order to hide who they really are. A great many famous authors have used fake names as well.

Believe it or not, one of the most famous authors in the world started writing under a fake name because he was afraid that his writing would not be accepted, and others may mock him for thinking he was good enough as a writer to actually make a living from his work. (Hint: Richard Bachman – I mean Stephen King still is among the most prolific, well known, respected, and most read authors in the world)

Why Would You Name Your Child After Someone With Fake Names

Some people will choose names for their baby girls or little boys not because they like the name, but because of what it represents to them personally. People may elect to find names of famous athletes that they admire, in hopes that their child will become a sports star and prized athlete.

Television and movie heroes often have their character names selected due to the perceived nature of their character in works of fiction. Most people will gravitate towards the ability to select the names of heroes for baby names, though some will inevitably seek out the anti-hero so common in fiction these days.

What Are Some Of The Most Creative Pseudonyms In The World?

When working as an editor for an Asian newspaper, one person was struck when they began getting contributions by an individual ostensibly named Tsu Doh Nimh. An apt pseudonym perhaps though, and the work was ultimately published it would seem. An anonymous poster was able to remain hidden for a long time by posting as Anna Nemis. A teacher from Southern Louisiana used the pseudonym Ed U. Cajun for their social media posts.

The Cowboy Poetry Contests have some of the most clever pseudonyms, though not all of them are suitable for a family publication. Awlhattin O’Caddel or All Hat and No Cattle comes to mind, a name for someone who wanted to look the part, but knew nothing about being a working cowboy. Aldis Ferlach O’Peigh was another good one that came to mind, meaning All this for lack of pay, or lamenting the inability to make a decent living as a cowboy.

Funny And Real Baby Names

There are even many instances where real names are just as telling, descriptive, and downright funny or scary. Among these you can find names like Adam Baum, Anita Check, Anna Conda, Crystal Ball, Robin Banks, and many others. What do you think though, is it right to give your babygirl or babyboy a “cute” or “clever” name that may haunt them for the rest of their lives? What if the name only causes them grief and misery throughout their youth and school days, would it be worth it?

Bad Business Names – Bad

There are also many – dare we say – interesting names for companies. The legal team of Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe may be among the more famous, but it certainly is not the only one. Sofa King was proudly displaying their ads on the sides of city buses until someone complained. Why? Because their prices were “Sofa King Low” as advertised, though I would not say that aloud at work.

Chinese restaurants may be among the most commonly abused business names, likely because it is so easy to get something past an audience for some reason. Some of these names are just clever though, and merit some attention if not outright appreciation for their ingenuity.

Wok This Way is a clever take on an old Aerosmith song. If you prefer Thai food, you may find yourself dining at the Thai Tanic, though no word on whether or not they offer traditional black tea that is full of tannic acid, or if you can enjoy that fresh ocean breeze in quite the same way.

What Are Their Fake Names And Real Names

Sometimes, people will change their names for personal or professional reasons. If a Pixar movie was being directed by Albert Einstein, would you be so anxious to see it? How much would you pay for a ticket to see Florian Cloud de Bounevialle Armstrong perform? Would you line up to buy a book or see a movie by Robert Galbraith?

In this section, we have included fake names and real names. Can you guess which one is which? Do not be surprised if there are some names that you do not recognize at all.

How Do I Find Creative Names For My Baby

The first question here seems to be, do you really want to find cute and clever names for your babygirls and babyboys? This should definitely be questioned if you are thinking of naming your babies something that may render them the butt of jokes throughout the course of their natural life.

It may not be fully understood just how deeply the names you select for your children are at the end of the day. One thing is for sure though, whether with fake names or real names; putting your children in an environment where you know they will be ridiculed just for the crazy name you gave them may be considered an act of cruelty by some, including your children.

What do you think though? Are cute and clever names for your new baby a good idea? Should names always be more traditional or is there room to have a little fun with baby names for a babyboy or babygirl?
