Jasmine Cephas Jones is an influential force in theatre for portraying the originating roles of ’Peggy Schuyler’ and ‘Maria Reynolds’ of the original, record-breaking Broadway hit, ‘Hamilton: An American Musical’ (2015-2016). She won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album in 2016. She is also known for appearing in other Off-Broadway musicals ‘Cyrano’ (2019) and ‘The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner’ (2014). Beginning in 2013, she began appearing in the films ‘Titus’ (2013), ‘Blindspotting’ (2018), ‘The Photograph’ (2020), and ‘Honest Thief’ (2020).

Musical and acting talent ran in Jones’ family. She was born to her American actor father, Ron Cephas Jones, and jazz singer mother, Kim Lesley.
