Alanis Morisette gained international fame for her singing career, which formally started in the 90s. She earned the nickname ‘Queen of Alt-Rock Angst’ given to her by the Rolling Stone magazine. Some of her most famous works were included in her albums ‘Jagged Little Pill’ (1995) and ‘Havoc and Bright Lights’ (2012).

She was named after her father Alan, who saw the girl version Alanis in a Greek newspaper. In turn, she has a knack for giving unique names to her kids: Onyx Solace, Ever Imre, and Winter Mercy.

In 2009, she ran a marathon in order to promote awareness for the National Eating Disorders Association.
