Dick Van Dyke had an amazing cinematic career of more than seven decades. Considered as a Disney legend, he received multiple awards including the Screen Actors Guild’s highest honor, the SAG Life Achievement Award, five Primetime Emmys, a Tony, and an Oscar. He became famous for his sitcom ‘The Dick Van Dyke Show’ (1961-1966) but achieved full-fledged stardom in the musical films ‘Mary Poppins’ (1964) and ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ (1968).
He quit high school during his senior year to serve the US Army Forces. He went back to high school and received his diploma when he was aged 78.
