Gerard Way rose to prominence in the early 2000s as the lead vocalist of the New Jersey-based rock band My Chemical Romance. Some of their famous hits include ‘Welcome to the Black Parade’ (2006), ‘The Kids from Yesterday’ (2012), and ‘Famous Last Words’ (2007). As a solo artist, Way released singles such as ‘Getting Down the Germs’ (2018) and ‘Dasher’ (2018). Soon after, he found himself writing a comic book series. One example was ‘The Umbrella Academy’ (2019) which was adapted into a Netflix show.
