Harrison Ford may be infamous for his sarcastic and dry humor but he still remains a favorite in the Hollywood scene–the famed filmmakers Steven Spielberg and George Lucas included. He is iconic for playing Han Solo and Indiana Jones, in which he recounts as his portrayal of the latter which he takes most pride of.
In the 1960s, Harrison Ford went by a different name, ’Harrison J. Ford’, to distinguish himself from the silent film actor who bore the same name. With no middle name, his middle initial ’J’ did not really stand for anything. A recognized active conservationist, the species of Central American ant (Pheidole harrisonfordi) and spider (Calponia harrisonfordi) were named after him.
As an Illinois boy, he was a passionate boy scout who achieved the second-highest rank as Life Scout. In ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’ (1989), he and Spielberg decided for the young Indiana Jones to play the role of a Life Scout. He considered himself a late bloomer in the world of acting.
