Heath Ledger is widely regarded in his portrayal of Ennis Del Mar in ’Brokeback Mountain’ (2005). In 2008, he landed the role of the youngest Joker in ’The Dark Knight’ (2008). But it was in 1999 when he starred in ’10 Things I Hate About You’ (1999) alongside Julia Stiles that carved him a place in Hollywood.

Ledgers parents named him and his older sister, Kate Ledger, after the main leads of Emily Brontë novel, ‘Wuthering Heights’ (1847).

As a child, he was a proud owner of a pet kangaroo which his mother found back when they still lived in Australia. A first-time dad, he took the whole year off to take care of his daughter Matilda Ledger.
