Johnny Weir found fame in the 90s and 2000s as a figure skater and representative of the United States in international tournaments. He won several awards including a gold medal at the 2001 World Junior Championships and at the Cup of Russia 2007. In 2013, Weir joined NBC as a commentator after he announced his retirement from figure skating. He joined the likes of Tara Lipinski and Terry Gannon as an analyst at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
It was through his experiences of horse riding where Weir found awareness and interest in becoming a figure skater.
