Kristin Chenoweth was trained as a child gospel music singer before pursuing opera and musical theatre. The Oklahoma-bred songstress is best known for her Tony Award-winning performance as Sally Brown in the musical comedy, ‘You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown’ (1998-1999), and in her joint-leading role of Glinda in the famed musical, ‘Wicked’ (2003-2004). She is also recognized for her appearances on various television shows like ‘The West Wing’ (1999-2006) and ‘Pushing Daisies’ (2007-2009), where she earned an Emmy Award for her acting. Additionally, she also had the privilege to star on her own Emmy-nominated semi-autobiographical sitcom show, ‘Kristin’ (2001), and lent her voice in the films ‘Rio 2’ (2014) and ‘The Peanuts Movie’ (2015).
In Oklahoma, the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center named their theatre Kristin Chenoweth in honor of the famed actress.
