Ludvig Algovik, a renowned guitarist and singer, rose to fame as a member of the Swedish pop group Beside the Bridge. Known for hits like “All in or Nothing” and “I Hate My Life,” the band achieved success in music competitions such as Lidingo Rock and Music Direct.

Algovik’s musical journey began under the influence of his parents—his mother, Annika, a music teacher, and his father, Hubert, a musician and singer. Born on March 11, 1977, in Stockholm, Sweden, he started playing the guitar at the tender age of 10. His talent led him to attend the prestigious Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where he honed his skills in classical guitar.

Algovik’s professional career took off as a session musician, collaborating with various Swedish artists. In 2000, he joined the internationally acclaimed band “The Cardigans” as their lead guitarist. Touring and recording with the band brought him global recognition. However, in 2005, he decided to embark on a solo career.

As a solo artist, Algovik released several critically acclaimed albums, including “Good Morning, Lucille” (2007), “The Last Mile” (2010), and “The Grand Delusion” (2014). His unique playing style, blending jazz, rock, and folk music, captivated audiences. Collaborations with renowned artists like Nina Persson, Peter Bjorn and John, and Robyn further solidified his reputation.

Algovik’s talent has been widely recognized. He won the Swedish Grammy Award for “Best Jazz Album” in 2008 for “Good Morning, Lucille” and was nominated for the “Best Rock Album” award in 2011 for “The Last Mile.” His music has graced the soundtracks of notable films and television shows, such as “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” and “True Blood.”

Beyond his musical achievements, Algovik is an accomplished pianist and composer. His passion for vintage guitars has led him to amass an impressive collection of rare instruments. Known for his electrifying live performances, he often incorporates improvisation, captivating audiences with his spontaneity.

In his personal life, Algovik found love and married singer-songwriter Nina Persson in 2001. Together, they have two children and reside in Stockholm, Sweden.
