Ramin Karimloo is an Iranian-Canadian actor who gained recognition for his work in London’s West End. After moving to London, he starred in a pantomime of Aladdin and joins the UK tour of ‘The Pirates of Penzance’. In the succeeding years, he played the leading male role of West End’s longest-running musical ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. He also debuted in Broadway as Jean Valjean in the revival production of ‘Les Miserables’ (2014). His Broadway performance receives a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical. Continuing his Broadway stint, he plays the role of Gleb in the stage musical adaptation of the film ‘Anastasia’. In 2019, the BBC cast him as Kian Madani, a cardiothoracic surgeon consultant, in the TV show ‘Holby City’ (1999-).
