English names for baby boys, with 20792 entries. English names reflect diverse cultural, religious, and historical influences. Some names from Norman rulers such as Benjamin and Robert and those from Catholic saints like John and Thomas remain popular.

English names are very popular baby names for boys. At the height of their usage in 1952, 80.941% of baby boys were given English names. There were 596 English names ranked within the top 1000 baby names then. English names have since experienced a decline in frequency, but are nonetheless used on a very heavy scale now. In 2018, 608 English names listed among the top 1000, with a combined usage of 59.163%. Within all English names, the English, Gaelic, and Irish Liam was the most commonly used, with a ranking of #1 and a usage of 1.0284%.
