Boy Names of King theme

King names for baby boys, related also with prince, emperor, chief, ruler, leader, superior, crown, master, judge, majesty, brahma, commander, pharaoh, queen, and royalty with 848 entries. King names, whether they mean ‘king’ or are actual names of kings, are enduring favorites. Whether constitutional power is believed to come from the citizenry or from god, monarchs cut a supreme figure of leadership and king names are therefore often equated with power and prestige. Specific to royal European history, the names of kings, such as Edward, Charles and Henry have been popular inspiration for generations of little boys.

King names are all-time favorites. Currently they are still very popular baby names for boys, though they were in more widespread use previously. At the height of their usage in 1949, 47.471% of baby boys were given King names. There were 123 King names ranked within the top 1000 baby names then. King names have since experienced a decline in frequency, but are nonetheless used on a very heavy scale now. In 2018, 124 King names listed among the top 1000, with a combined usage of 17.268%. Within all King names, the English and French William was the most commonly used, with a ranking of #3 and a usage of 0.7526%.
