Boy Names of Land theme

Land names feel a little like place names – familiar yet special. While place names can be inspired from anywhere, from mountains and valleys to cities and states, land names carry more of a rugged edge. Land names are very popular baby names for boys. The names rose in popularity from the 1900s up to the 1980s. At the height of their usage in 1984, 6.120% of baby boys were given Land names. There were 40 Land names ranked within the top 1000 baby names then. Land names have since experienced a decline in frequency. In 2018, 42 Land names listed among the top 1000, with a combined usage of 3.788%. Within all Land names, the English Joshua was the most commonly used, with a ranking of #41 and a usage of 0.3818%.
